| Administrative Traffic Court |
| Administrative Traffic Court was implemented
in 1997 by the district attorney, chief district court judge, and clerk of court. It was
designed to dispose of infractions and minor traffic offenses quickly while giving
attendees flexible hours to attend. Administrative Traffic Court is held Monday through Friday in courtroom 1A, located on the 1st floor of the courthouse. The hours are from 7:45a.m. until 3:30p.m.; a person scheduled in this courtroom may appear at any time during those hours. Please note that 7:45a.m. until 9:30a.m. is generally the busiest time of the day. Upon arriving on the 1st floor on the date of your scheduled court appearance, you must sign in with the clerk at the kiosk station outside of courtroom 1A. If the clerks are not in the lobby, enter courtroom 1A and check in with the district attorney. At that point you will be instructed to wait inside the courtroom until the assistant district attorney calls your name. He/she will speak with you about your case before you are called before the judge. Trials are not held in this courtroom; therefore, if you want to be tried for an infraction, you must appear on your initial date and make a motion for a continuance so that the officer who issued the citation can be subpoened for a later date. |
