Legal Internships

The Wake County District Attorney’s office has a limited number of legal internships available for spring, summer and fall. These positions are unpaid. Students must be rising 3Ls for summer, and 3Ls for spring and fall only, as our internship focuses on practical experience in the courtroom and students will prosecute cases under the Third Year Practice Rule.

Summer Internships: On-campus interviews are scheduled at the following law schools: UNC, NC Central, Campbell, and Elon. Students from those schools interested in summer internships should contact Career Services at the start of the fall semester of their 2L year. Students at other schools should send resumes & cover letters, no later than September 15, to Ms. Landon Smith at landon.smith@nccourts.org

Spring and Fall Internships: On-campus interviews are held at Campbell only for the following semester. All other students should email resumes & cover letters for the spring semester no later than October 15 for the spring semester, and March 15 for the fall semester, to Ms. Landon Smith at landon.smith@nccourts.org
